Plan your journey door-to-door, by car, bus, train or bike with Google Maps. If you are using a postcode to find us PL20 6EU will bring you to the top of our entrance drive (far more helpful than our postal postcode!) To check in you will first need to make your way to Cider House where we live, where the Supacat will be ready for your transfer. The following link offers detailed directions which guests find hugely useful should satnav signal prove intermittent.....DIRECTIONS. We have parking for ONE car per StarBed.
The National Trust Buckland Abbey Estate is quite simply glorious, with fabulous way marked trails leading you around the woodland and stunning gardens to enjoy not to mention the Abbey itself, former home to Sir Francis Drake and recently the proud custodians of a rather super Rembrandt. Complementary passes are provided for the Estate for the duration of your stay along with an all too tempting discount voucher for the National Trust shop and all their fabulous ranges, it is well worth a browse.
The land leading from the parking area up to the huts is tenanted and guests are requested to leave gates as they find them to ensure the stock are contained accordingly. It is a 10 minute walk to reach the Hideaways some of which is across open pasture and can be slippery under foot. Please take care.
Have a look at our Activities page which has a map of interesting locations in the area. We've also prepared a Guide to Restaurants in West Devon as well as StarBed Hideaways's very own Guide to Dartmoor.
